The patent claims that a belt connecting to a network device “creates a sensation for a user similar to having guests in a remote location to be physically present as virtual guests,” allowing people to “concurrently experience the entertainment together e.g., a live sporting event, spectator game. The patent also mentions hologaphic avatars ( Microsoft, Bill Gates patent ‘virtual entertainment,’ with belt – GeekWire). Is this device supposed to be a cure for Bill Gates’ “virtual dates”, where when he and his girlfriend were in different towns would pick a movie, watch it at the same time at their respective locations and talk about it on the cell phone on way to and from the movie theater ?
