I love elgg (and peopleagreggator). It’s exactly what we need. Now, it’s time to design the darn place. I really think that we need to focus on a name that is as clear to the world outside as it is for the insiders. Although I like boilerspace very much, I am not sure how recognizable will it be to the world outside. My alternative are, as I mentioned, ourpurdue.com or nupurdue.com
I like a name like (actually, exactly like) wepurdue.com. It is a double entendre as in “We, (the people of) Purdue” and as in “we Purdue” where Purdue becomes a verb. It’s more active in nature. Can’t remember who came up with it, but I think it was Brenda.
