This Iron Age oak barrel was found in Ireland with exceptionally well-preserved butter inside. The contents of the vessel could be one of the earliest known examples of food packaging and preservation.

Irish workers have discovered one of the earliest examples of packaged and preserved food.

An oak barrel dating back to about 3,000 years ago has been found filled with exceptionally well-preserved butter.

Cut out of a trunk, the three-foot-long, almost one-foot-wide butter barrel weighs 77 pounds and comes complete with a lid.

  1. I live in California, and I can tell you that the so-called ‘Happy cows’ from California live their whole lives on huge feedlots buried up to their ankles in their own shit.

    When you drive past them, it takes miles before the smell is purged from your car.

    The people who made those commercials should be sued for “truth in advertising’.

    Cows in California are miserable. And it’s miserable having to smell them.
