The FCC decided to change the way it does business. It has crowdsourced its policy planning process. Well, sort of.. It launched a Digg-like platform (actually a service on demand site, launched by IdeaScalem who wants to do for Digg-like applications what Intrade did for prediction markets) that allows individuals to propose and vote on different policy ideas. Leading the pack is the idea that US broadband pricing needs to be brought in line with the rest of the world. (A little sketchy, to be honest, but this is what the electing public came up with so far).

The United States has the highest pricing for broadband access in the world. It also has the most confusing set of mobile broadband plans found anywhere. Don’t let carriers confuse consumers with extra charges and small print. Simplify contracts with plain language and simplify plans with plain terms. Serve the consumer, not the carrier.
