Publishers Weekly issued its 2009 best book list. The choices, made out of 50,000 volumes, are at times quirky and cute, but overall the list offers a solid image of who is who and what was (and still is) worth reading this year. The list covers all genres, this is only a selection of a longer title list. Publishers Weekly is the most important American trade publication for book publishers and booksellers.
