At approximately 13:15 local time on 1 February 2013, a suicide bomber detonated a bomb at a side entrance to the United States embassy in the Turkish capital, Ankara, killing at least two persons. The map below indicates the precise location of the building where the explosion took place. The building was on a side street, behind the embassy, with its own entrance directly from the street.

Dr. Matei's teaching portfolio includes technology and strategy, online interaction, and digital media analytics classes. A former BBC World Service journalist, his contributions have been published in Esquire and several leading Romanian newspapers. In Romania, he is known for his books Boierii Mintii (The Mind Boyars), Idolii forului (Idols of the forum), and Idei de schimb (Spare ideas).
